The 1200-mile long Pacific Northwest Trail (PNT) is now 40 years old. The path travels through 3 western U.S. states. The eastern terminus is in Glacial National Park in Montana. The trail's end in the west is the seashore in Washington.
A PNT hiker faces the following types of challenges: traveling through grizzly bear country, following poor trail signage, enduring long road walks, avoiding summer wildfires, and encountering few hikers. Did I mention the mountain lions?
Watch this video to see if you are ready for the PNT? Do you have the backpacking experience? Exactly how well can you use a map and compass? Do you have the mental toughness to give it a try?
